Don’t get me wrong, we love flowers, but have to admit that often paper plays just as big of a role in the overall wedding design as our blooms do. Paper is also a great resource for a destination wedding. It is light, easy to travel with and packs well. That is part of the reason why the night before my wedding my friends I sat around unfolding and fluffing tissue paper pom poms. I found these gorgeous colors here and they turned out to be the perfect travel companion. We used them to line the back of the bourbon bar, which added a touch of color, texture and decor to an otherwise plain table. Dear Jendo did all of the hand lettering on site for me since we weren’t quite sure what we’d be able to snag in duty free ahead of time.
Next up are the mind blowing invitations, welcome boxes, seating cards, and other goodies designed by my dear friend Bryn from Paperfinger!

My gorgeous cousin is getting hitched this coming year and I couldn’t be happier! She and her fiance live in beautiful Christchurch, New Zealand (he’s a native kiwi) and it’s been such fun to be getting wedding planning updates from afar! This past week, she sent me a link to the amazing Juliette Hogan‘s website.  Hogan’s gorgeous dresses (bridesmaids’ and otherwise) have me swooning! Here are a few of my faves.

This week P&P is excited to be working in San Diego! We always love our projects on the west coast as we get to use things that aren’t always available to us in NYC.  This week’s favorite find- cherry tomatoes on the vine.  Aren’t they gorgeous?

 This past June we hopped on board the ferry to Nantucket for a small, intimate wedding at The White Elephant. Jen Huang Photography captured Ginny + David the day before their wedding just perfectly on the island. If you haven't heard our exciting news yet we're officially open for business in California! We're very excited about expanding into this amazing state and are looking forward to working with some new people.  We'll be traveling between our locations for meetings so let us know if you'd like to say hello. To kick off our California livin we wanted to share some photos from a recent wedding we designed in Monecito. This was an extra special project because it was for one of our long time colleagues and dear friend Jen Huang Photography. She, and her now husband, were married in the most beautiful location- a 1920's mansion in Monecito, CA.  Jose Villa was there to capture all of the beautiful details of her special day. We'll be sure to share his photos when we have them.  We haveno doubt they'll be some of our all time favorite shots! California product as you can imagine is so much fun to work with since much of it is grown right there in the sunny state. This single stem of ranunculus, being held by my husband, had three flowers on it & all of the dahlias we used were delivered straight from the farm in buckets.  All in all it was a magical trip that won't soon be forgotten. We'll be back in San Diego this September for another wedding and we can't wait!

Last week we made the trek to Nantucket for an intimate wedding and we could not have fallen more in love with the location. After 5 hours in the car, 2 hours on the ferry, and a few lobster rolls in between we touched down on the island to find the most charming atmosphere. It’s the perfect location for a wedding and we hope we’ll be back soon. Until next time, here is a little peek at our time there.

 Dear Jendo designed all of the paper goods for the wedding and the bride rented our linen napkins which paired really well with the grey table linens.

 There is not a house on the island that I would not die to live in. It seemed as if pale pink garden roses were growing up every inch of every building which took a lot of self restraint to not hack down.

Grand Place in Brussels, Belgium has once again been transformed into a shockingly beautiful flower carpet display and the facts behind how this installation was created are unbelievable. Every two years a new design is thought up and constructed in the city center. Over a million blooms were used to construct this years vibrant design. Mostly begonias and dahlias are packed in one by one using 300 to every square metre. The design is based on the patterns of brightly colored African textiles and stretches 79x253ft giving an area of 19,000 sq ft. Perhaps the most astonishing fact to this is all is that this is constructed in just four hours!

Have you heard of Giraffe Manor?  It’s a boutique hotel in Nairobi, Kenya located on a sanctuary for Rothchild giraffe.  Every morning and evening they visit this gorgeous 1930’s home for snacks before they head out to the preserve for the day.  What more needs to be said?…  Its the perfect venue for an unforgettable destination wedding.  Or just a wedding if you live in Nairobi.

I want to go to there.
