Mondays with Matt: Kate Greenaway
I love Kate Greenaway’s silly but beautiful illustrations. Mostly depicting mothers and children dressed almost always in pretty empire waisted frocks, they are are the sort of thing found in your grandmother’s powder room. But I can’t help but think they are still just very pretty and sort of perfect. I mean wouldn’t you rather a few of these framed prints than a wallpaper border of geese?
These would make a very sweet gift for a mother or aunt or grandmother. I did a quick search on ebay and found a of books with her illustrations which are ripe to be framed.
Don’t you think her images are a great starting point for a wedding? They kind of remind me some of the Mario Testino photographs of Kate Moss and her bridal party at her wedding.
