Each week we’ll be sitting down with one of our favorite designers, photographers, chefs, or creatives in search of their three favorite things. Today we’re chatting with Michael Steifman the owner and mastermind behind Michael Stuart NY. Michael is a food enthusiast who launched his own catering company a few years back with the goal of bringing local, seasonal, and socially responsible catering to Brooklyn and beyond. When we asked; what are a few of your favorite things right now? Here is what he had to share…

I’m a huge fan of bourbon and after trying them all Blanton’s is still my favorite. It’s a silky & smokey bourbon making it easy to sip straight up, just as I prefer it. Oh and with a coke on the side.

After bourbon or probably before bourbon would be books. I’m an avid reader and love all of the knowledge that comes from reading. I just finished Area 51 and now I’m reading The Art of Fielding.

As you can probably tell by now I’m not persuaded easily by trends, my favorite things we’re probably my favorites five years ago too. So, the last thing would be tattoos. I got my first one when I was 23 years old and my last one was finished last June. It is a replica of a painting my father did when he was young and it’s on my forearm. I’m already ready for another one.
