Weddings Inspired By…

Happy Thursday! We’re introducing a new weekly post called Weddings Inspired By… where one of us, from the P&P team, puts together a few ideas for a wedding design inspired by something, be it an object, idea, film, or color palette.

This week we were inspired by…

Fine Art

The Dress

Elie Saab

Alice & Olivia

We love both of these dresses because of their watercolor-esque prints and gossamer like materials.  Either would work beautifully for a fine art inspired wedding!

The Design

Try incorporating paintbrushes (maybe with different colored paint still on them) into centerpieces.  It’s a unique way of bringing color into the tablescape without a traditional floral centerpiece.

Have your florist/event designer bring famous still life paintings to life on every table. This still life ‘Apples & A Pot of Primrose” by Cezanne would look gorgeous recreated with real flowers and fruit as a centerpiece.

The Details

Hold the wedding in an art gallery.

Instead of having a photo booth, have a 5 minute portraiture artist do quick sketches of your guests.

Give your guests fancy crayons or colored pencils as favors.  You could even have paper at each table for them to write you a note or draw a picture as an alternative to a traditional guest book.  For a more casual affair, cover the tables in paper and let people channel their inner child by drawing on the tablecloth.
