A few of my favorite things….

This week we are so lucky to have Danielle Larson, founder and executive chef of The Supper Society, share her favorite things with us.  Danielle is one of my best friends and a force to be reckoned with in the culinary world.

Her company, The Supper Society, is an organic culinary wellness company that services high-profile clientele in Los Angeles.  What separates Dani from the rest is that she has actually made healthy food taste like comfort food. Danielle went to Bauman College for Holistic Nutrition and Culinary Arts and worked as a line-cook at the Zagat-award winning Terra Restaurant in Malibu, California, before going on to start her own business. Her cleanses have gained a cult-like following among celebrities, including George Clooney, Stacy Keibler and Jason Segel!

She just launched a new product called the “Glow Kit,” which is an amazing DIY cleanse that gets shipped to your house and comes with a 14 day meal plan, recipe guide, and all the smoothie powders, superfoods, proteins, fiber supplements and teas that you need for your entire cleanse! We love her cleanses because they’re not just juice or lemonade. You get juice, of course, but she also feeds you clean foods like soups, smoothies and stir fries, so that you still have enough food to maintain your metabolism, and don’t gain all the weight back the day after you stop. This is definitely recommended for any bride-to-be looking to lose weight without sacrificing that love affair that’s even more passionate than the one with your fiance– food!

Dani has generously  offered 15% off your first Glow Kit if you mention Poppies and Posies when you order… so check her out!

Take it away Dani!

The wind in my face, particularly the ocean breeze

I love bundling up and then feeling the elements kiss me awake!

 Leafy greens

If I go a day without a green juice or a green smoothie, I feel off. Choose organic, unpasteurized juices for the most nutrients and enzymes. Green is the best for anything, as green veggies purify the blood, make you look radiant and offer the most vitamins. Kale is a great veggie because it helps protect against cancer and aging. But other kinds of greens (and vegetables) offer great sources of antioxidants too, so it’s good to change it up and have a little bit of everything.
 Coconut oil

It’s my cure-all for everything. I use it on my face, on cuts, in raw protein shakes and on whole grain sprouted toast. Coconut oil is anti-bacterial, healing and also really great for the skin. Your cells are coated in fat, so when you eat healthy fats like this one (instead of greasy fast food fats), your cells are cleaner and your skin starts to glow. Get cold-pressed organic- it’s the real deal.
