At Home…
This week I tried my hand at making ice cream for the first time! It turned out pretty well, if I do say so myself, for a first attempt and was a fun end of summer project. I used the following recipe (found here) and found it much simpler than a lot of the others that require lots of cooking and raw eggs.
You’ll Need:
- 2 quarts half-and-half cream
- 1/2 pint heavy cram
- 1 1/2 cups white sugar
- 4 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 pinch salt
Combine the above ingredients and then follow the directions on your ice cream maker. It’s as easy as that! Yum!
I am going to try a more complicated recipe next and I’ll let you know how it turns out. If you don’t have an ice cream maker and still want to give ice cream making a go check out this recipe. Bon Appetit!
