I would like to stop and smell the roses…
But this year I sure do have hayfever! It’s supposedly one of the worst years for allergens to date and I for one would like to do something about it. That’s where one of my personal heroes, Rosemary Gladstar, comes in. I found this recipe for a tonic that relieves sinus congestion in her amazing book.
She recommends you make this yourself as it is part of the therapy and to not use a food processor because hand grating will do wonders for you!
You’ll Need:
- Horseradish Root
- Apple Cider Vinegar
- Honey
*Use a hand grater and finely grate the horseradish root. Grate until your eyes are watering! The effects of the horseradish have begun!
*Mix the grated horseradish with vinegar and honey to taste. The sauce can be stored in a glass jar with a tight fitting lid in the refrigerator for up to 6 months. Eat 1 to 2 teaspoons daily. Rosemary recommends it on crackers or veggies.
Voila! You have a very powerful, natural remedy for that springtime congestion. Now, time to stop and smell the roses!
