Monday with Matt: off… white

Last week I posted some evening gowns, and suggested that a bride might think about wearing scarlet or chartreuse… I know that sounds a bit off base, but they were rather pretty dresses… and brides are wearing considerably more color these days. While the aforementioned shades (red is the traditional color for Indian brides) could be a stretch for some, hardly any wedding gowns are pure white anymore; most dresses are ivory, parchment, cream, soft pink, gold, silver, gray, or some combination of the above.
Vera Wang showed not a single white dress for FW2012, her collection consisted of the romantic princess shapes that you expect, but in layers of black and nude tulle.

The whole collection was inspired by witches and although everything will be available in white, I think the colored versions, especially the nude, are lovely.
On the other hand, Sarah Jessica Parker has recently revealed in interviews that she regrets wearing black. So what do you think? Wearing color on your wedding, yay or nay?
