The best part about the Oscars is really the red carpet. Well really the best part is arguing with your friends the next day over who was the best dressed. I was looking at Style this morning and here are a few of my favorites.

I love Shailene Woodley’s (the daughter in The Descendants) Valentino Haute Couture

For a white dress, it’s not incredibly bridal… which can always be a problem on the red carpet. That said, wouldn’t that be a dynamic gown for an evening wedding?

Sticking with white I also thought Gwyneth Paltrow looked beautiful in Tom Ford.

The tux-ish cut of her cape is so chic and so appropriate for the evening.

Lastly I really loved Colin Firth’s wife Livia’s Valentino dress.

The demure sleeves and full cut of the skirt are so demure in contrast with the siren red color.

And thankfully this time Meryl Streep didn’t muck it up. She wore a gorgeous gold gown by Lanvin.

She’s really a hit or miss on the red carpet, and I think she just knocked this one out of the park.
