Weddings Inspired by…

Romance is what this is all about. At least that is what comes to mind when I see this Samuelle Couture dress below. Samuelle’s custom dresses epitomize eternal romance to me with the exposed back and long flowy bottom.

I imagine the only place for such a wedding would be in an old, almost dilapidated, yet perfectly beautiful garden. The Dumbarton Oaks research library and collection in DC has the most amazing gardens, which we’re started in the 1920’s after the property was bought by Mildred & Robert Woods Bliss. It is far off from being dilapidated, but it has that imperfectly perfect feeling about.

Romance means nothing without hand calligraphy by Paperfinger. I’d say choose a dark colored paper with white or gold lettering for perfectly executed paper goods.

Vintage decanters arranged on a tray with various types of whiskeys adds a masculine touch to all of the romance and a fun bar idea for your guests. (photo source unknown)

I can’t imagine anything but a loose, garden inspired bouquet to go along with that dress. I love the deep reds and aubergines paired together in this bouquet that we designed recently.

For the centerpieces I’d choose a dark, aged silver goblet with another loose, garden-inspired arrangement. The flowers on the table can be a bit lighter than the bouquet creating the perfect complimentary colors throughout the day.
