This week we had the pleasure of sitting down with Kerry Crawford to find out about a few of her favorite things! Kerry is an uber-talented visual artist and makeup artist extraordinaire. We can’t get enough of her beautiful work and are thrilled to have a glimpse into what inspires her.  So, without further ado, take it away Kerry…

 After art school, I began my career as an illustrator and designer.  I worked for many years in this world, never quite finding the perfect fit.  Throughout much of my life, the art of makeup has always been something I’ve enjoyed, but that all sort of grew organically and instinctually without giving it much notice.  For me it was like painting, only on the face.  Finally after years of searching, I figured some things out and I chose to pursue what was always right there in front of me.  I became a pro makeup artist and started my own business KERRYMAKEUP 5 yrs. ago.  Today I’m very happy to say that I love my career and it fits me like a glove. Here are a few of my favorite things:

 #1) MY FINE FELLA

Cheesy, but how can I not include my husband?  My world forever changed once I met this guy via the interwebs almost 6 yrs. ago. He’s just an all-around awesome, smart, funny, creative and talented guy, and I’m a better version of myself since knowing him.  He teaches me, he inspires me, and he infuriates me.  He loves me no matter what, which is a really big deal.  He’s my best friend and one fine fella.  I’d be lost without him.

My top 3 favorite things to do together: (1)Sunday brunch in the West Village (2)Walking our pups on the beach (3)Finding treasures at a flea market

#2) MY PUGS

Crazy pug lady over here!  Yup, that’s me.  Slim and Lola are my babies and I love them to pieces.  Tons of goodness and joy have surrounded me since having them.  I swear – they come with a-giggle-a-day guarantee.  They’re also responsible for the random encounter of meeting the total stranger, I now happily call my husband.  Thanks pugs.

#3) CREATIVITY

I crave it and can’t live without it.  I’m at my most content when I’m creating in some way, shape, or form.  Lots of interests fall under this creativity umbrella for me: drawing, painting, designing, photography, decorating, and makeup, just to name a few.  I’ve learned that I really enjoy organizing, styling and directing photo shoots, while collaborating with other creatives.  I just like the entire visual process.  I’m a believer that taste is pretty much everything.  Basically, I want to try it all and I don’t want to limit myself to the possibilities.
